Giselle is a story about a peasant girl, who dies of a broken heart when she discovers her love, Prince Albrecht, is betrothed to another. The Wilis, spirits of young women who were betrayed in love before their wedding day, are led by Myrtha in Act II. Myrtha summons Giselle from her grave to seek revenge on any man who enters the graveyard by night.
